NEDERLAND, TX. – The Elite Redfish Series, the leading redfish tournament series on the Gulf Coast, will be hosting the "Port Arthur Recovery Open Tournament," in conjunction with the S.A.L.T. Club, on Pleasure Island in Port Arthur, Texas from Oct. 6-7. The Team Redfish event will benefit local charities and recovery efforts in Port Arthur in response to the destruction that occurred following the August impact of Hurricane Harvey.

"Many families have been displaced, without jobs or homes, following the havoc Harvey left in this town," said Pat Malone, executive director and producer of the Elite Redfish Series. "Hosting this tournament is one way for us to give back and help this area recover. Port Arthur is the center point of our business and we want to do everything in our power to help this community heal."

In this series, Team Redfish is holding a "GoFundMe" campaign to help raise money to cover angler fees. There is no registration fee for all anglers, however a donation of any size to the "GoFundMe" campaign is required. Half of all money raised will go to angler paybacks and the other half will go directly to local charities and recovery efforts.

There is a two fish limit, per team, per day. The total two-day weight determines finish. This event will serve as the single qualifier for the 2018 Elite Redfish Series as well.

As one of the most successful professional redfish tournament series in the United States, the Elite Redfish Series features the best professional anglers in the sport. The series features seven tournaments across the Gulf Coast states and continues to strive to create head-turning events for the anglers and their families, sponsors, friends, fans and communities where Elite tournaments are held.
